Permissions

Storage Permission

Pure Copy requests the "storage" permission to save your snippets, clipboard history, and settings locally on your device.

ActiveTab Permission

The "activeTab" permission allows Pure Copy to insert text snippets into the currently active tab when you trigger a keyboard shortcut or use the extension popup.

Host Permissions (All URLs)

Pure Copy requires access to all websites to enable the following features:

  • Pasting text snippets on any website using keyboard shortcuts
  • Enabling Clean Copy mode across all websites
  • Tracking clipboard history from any webpage

Despite having access to all websites, Pure Copy does not collect, monitor, or transmit any data from the websites you visit.

Data Retention and Deletion

You have complete control over your data:

  • Clipboard history items are automatically deleted after 30 days (configurable)
  • You can manually delete any snippet, history item, or setting at any time
  • Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data

Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on:

  • Your device's security settings
  • Chrome's built-in security features
  • Your user account permissions

We do not transmit data over the internet, which eliminates the risk of data interception during transmission.

Children's Privacy

Pure Copy does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The extension is not directed at children.
